The inspection is the real value
Every cleaning includes a check of your prongs, settings, and clasps under magnification. This is how most loose stones get caught — not when a customer notices, but when a jeweler does, months before the stone would have fallen out. Common questions
Can I just use an ultrasonic cleaner at home? Not on everything. Ultrasonic cleaning can loosen stones in worn settings and will damage pearls, opals, emeralds, and treated stones. Have the piece inspected first.
My white gold ring looks yellow. Is it fake? No. White gold is plated with rhodium, which wears off over time and exposes the warmer gold underneath. Replating restores it.
How often should I have jewelry cleaned? Every six months for daily-wear pieces such as engagement rings, and annually for occasional pieces.
